Frontline’s mission is “to transform the lives of vulnerable children by recruiting ad developing outstanding individuals to be leaders in social work and broader society.”

The founder and chief executive of Frontline, Josh Macalister, was a teacher working in challenging schools in Greater Manchester.  Through his experiences working with vulnerable children he was inspired to develop the idea for Frontline.  The idea was picked up by Lord Andrew Adonis, who encouraged Josh to take the idea and turn it into a reality.

Frontline combines an innovative curriculum 5-week Summer Institute, 12 months supervised on-the-job training and leadership development programme.

In your first year you will work towards a Postgrduate Diploma in Social Work which will be awarded at the end of the year subject to meeting all the requirements.  As a newly qualified social worker you will have the oportunity to study for a Master’s degree and obtain this on completion of Year 2.

Frank Knox Fellowships were established in 1945 by Mrs Annie Reid Knox as the Frank Knox Memorial to enable students from the UK, along with those from Australia, Canada and New Zealand, to undertake graduate study at Harvard University.

Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) survey

Early in 2017 we will ask you to complete a short anonymous survey asking whether you are working, studying, volunteering or doing something else.

These official DLHE statistics are used in league tables and guides. If Swansea does well again it reflects well on our graduates – and that means you.

The data also gives us an insight into the jobs market so you will be helping the students who follow in your footsteps.

 

Blind in Business will be running their first mock assessment centre for visually impaired students on 7 July 2016. They’ve worked with an external training provider to offer an introduction to assessment centres, competency-based interview training and a mock assessment centre (psychometric tests, presentation and group exercise).

The Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership (IfEL), in collaboration with Swansea Employability Academy (SEA) and International Students Advisory Service (ISAS), are hosting a seminar where you can get all of the information you need about applying.

The seminar will be on Wednesday May 11th 2016 starting at 1.30pm and finishing at 3.00pm in room CBE 112 in the School of Management building on the Bay Campus.

The seminar will cover the following topics:

  • Career planning and employability in the UK
  • The requirements of a Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur VISA
  • What we look for in a business plan

NIACE Cymru is working with The Electronic and Software Technologies network (ESTnet) to develop an innovative digital skills based project.

The project will include a ‘Young Persons’ Competition which wil engage with 15-24 year olds from schools, colleges, universities and the workplace in Wales. Download more information here.

The Sirius Programme is a new UKTI scheme that allows young entrepreneurs to apply for help setting up their business in the UK. Successful applicants will receive a 12-month start-up support package which includes a £12,000 investment, visa endorsement, a place in a business accelerator programme, mentoring and logistical help with relocating to the UK (like a mobile phone and introduction to a bank manager on arrival). One of the key aspects of the Sirius Programme that makes it the best programme in Europe, is that no equity is taken from the business so it remains 100% owned by the graduate teams.

Technoforte are currently recruiting for internships based in Bangalore, and will consider both non-Indian and Indian applicants.  Education at an institution outside India is one of the selection criteria.

Required skills sets as interns:

  1. Data Scientists and Statisticians. Their role will be Data Modeling and KPI definition for company Analytics. They should also have some insight into predictive analysis
  2. Graduates with specialization in Supply Chain Management
  3. MCA or Computer Science engineers who have knowledge of .Net and Java
  4. BBA or MBA graduates specialized in international sales

Remuneration: The stay cost up to INR 10,000 per intern will be undertaken by Technoforte. An internship allowance of INR 10,000 will be payable after 3 months subject to performance.

Accommodation: Technoforte can help interns to find suitable accommodation.

Number of interns to be recruited: To begin with 1 from each of the required disciplines –as mentioned below for India location, and possibly more depending on plans for the Wales office.
